It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vicki Starr Kugler, a loving mother and grandmother, a compassionate soul, and lifelong educator. Vicki's life came to an end on June 21st, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep. She was 79 years old.

Vicki's nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. Vicki was vivacious, quick witted and loved to talk to just about anyone who’d listen. She never met a stranger she couldn’t hold a conversation with. Her passion for teaching and her dedication to helping students, even outside of the classroom inspired those around her. Vicki's colleagues and friends remember her as a feisty, loquacious and fun-loving person, who made every room she inhabited just a little bit brighter.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Vicki was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Vicki's memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and colleagues. Her legacy as a mother, teacher, and friend will endure, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. In our hearts, she lives on, and we will forever honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on every life she touched.

Vicki was preceded in death by her mother, Janie Toline Orr, and her father, James Sydney Orr. She is survived by her daughter Valli Suzanne Kelly, her son Joshua Sydney Kugler, and her three granddaughters, Sydney-Jayne Kelly, Sadie-Claire Kelly, and Sicily-Grace Kelly.

At the family’s request, there will be no public memorial, only a private viewing and graveside service for her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Donors Choose, a charity focused on helping public school teachers supply their classrooms, and ensuring students are provided with everything they need to succeed. Donations can be made in her honor by visiting the following https://www.donorschoose.org/.
