Marc Sims is the owner and manager of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer, Rutherford and Kenton, who has over 24 years of experience in the funeral industry. He is a 1996 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association.
Angela Sims (non-licensed) is owner and administrative assistant. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bethel University on December 11, 2010, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Organizational Development.
Abbie Sims Forrester (non-licensed) graduated from Gibson County High School and attended Jackson State Community College, where she graduated, majoring in Radiography.
We as a family attend New Bethlehem Baptist Church and enjoy being active in our church and community.
Samantha Poiner (non-licensed) graduated from Westview High School (Martin, TN) in 2018 and was introduced to funeral service at the end of 2019. She began her apprenticeship in June of 2020 at Karnes & Son Funeral Home, and successfully completed her apprenticeship. Currently, Samantha is enrolled at John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science with plans to graduate in December 2023. Samantha currently resides in Martin with her “ fur babies” Prince and Gypsy. She is elated to begin her career with Karnes and Son Funeral Home.
Jennifer is married, and has two children. She has been with Karnes & Son since January 2016, and enjoys assisting families in their time of need.
Harold has worked with Karnes and Son since 2008. Harold assists in all areas when needed. He is retired from Milan Army Ammunition Plant. Harold and his wife, Janice, have been married since 1964. They attend Salem United Methodist Church, where they are very active.
Roger joined our staff in May 2016, after retiring from the Gibson County Sheriff's Department after 32 years.
Roger assists in all areas when needed.
He is pleased to be associated with Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
Jason joined our staff in July 2021. Jason is married to Cristina Adkins. They have a daughter, Savannah; and two boys, David and Evan. He attends First Baptist Church in Rutherford and serves as Deacon and drummer. Jason is honored to work at Karnes & Son Funeral Home and helps in all areas where needed.
